GPS Fleet Software - Keeping Track the easy way!

GPS real-time vehicle tracking, fleet management and control of mobile objects the easy way

fleet software

Software features and tools that are easy to use

Are you sometimes puzzled about the whereabouts of your vehicles and employees? The features of the GPS Fleet Software simplify your life. You will always have tight control and get a fast overview:

Short list of features (standard)

Current vehicle position a. vehicle track     Geofencing & Alarms
Past vehicle tracks and stops    Logbooks, logobook module
Driving behavior and speed limits    Configuration, renaming of assets
  Reports, Exports, Mail-Reports    Administration, user-management

Extended features (optional)

Driver identification with iButtons    CANBUS & FMS-Data
Fuel level measurement    Accessories and interfaces
Additional inputs, sensors, signals    More choice of tracking devices

Current vehicle position a. vehicle track

You save a lot of time and money by exactly knowing the current position of your vehicles or where it is going. The central map shows the selected vehicles on the screen. Green vehicles are moving, red vehicles are stopped, while orange vehicles are not transmitting any signal for a certain time.

The fleet's position is updated automatically. By clicking on the vehicle's name in a list, you focus on the selected vehicle. By clicking on the vehicle's symbol, you get all necessary vehicle details such as name of driver, current location, speed, etc.

Past vehicle tracks and stops

The GPS Fleet Software stores all past trips and driven tracks for later historic analysis. You simply select the time interval and monitor the past tracks of your vehicles. Varios vehicles can be shown at the same time in different colours.

You can further analyze your past trips by adding details. Small arrows on the track indicate the driving direction. Stop markers are symbolizing the position, adress and duration of a past stop.

Driving behavior and speed limits

How fast are your drivers? Speed tells a lot abut driving style. If you draw more attention to the speed and driving behavior of your drivers, you will reduce the ever incresing cost for petrol or diesel. At the same time you will make your company and roads a safer place with less people injured or killed due to speeding.

A simple chart is indicating the driving speed. You will find areas of over-speeding and times of unnecessary or too long breaks easily.

The history also shows start and end points where drivers where excheeding the configured speed limits. Additionally, you can generate a report with all overspeeding events and with a simple driver rating.

Reports, Exports, Mail-Reports

Let's suppose you have less time but you want to effectively control your fleet's operations? These reports support you a lot in finding real delays and problems:

  • Monthly logbook overview: On which days did your vehicle move how many kilometers and when was the start time of the first trip and the end time of the last trip of the day?
  • Geofencing-Report: How much time did your vehicles spend at selected customers or construction sites? When did they enter or leave a predefined alarm area?
  • Logbooks containing each single trip with start and stop times, driven distance of the trip and level of odometer
  • Stops and break times with a filter to exclude short stops
  • Operations report: How long was the total driving time in comparison to the stops in between?
  • Digital input reports dealing with times of switching on ignition or any additional input

You can download all Reports as a PDF File for simple saving and printing or open the data as Excel file for further modifications. The Info-Mail function automatically generates daily or weekly reports that are sent to the decision makers so that you will stay up-to-date.

Geofencing & Alarms

Keeping track about arriving and leaving your customers has never been so easy. You can add geofence areas for monitoring the exact entry and leaving times of this geofence area. You can also use this "geo"-fence for alarming reasons if a vehicle or construction machinery is moving unexpectedly.

You add as many geofence areas as you need. The notification is generated via email and can be forwarded to SMS.

The alarm can be restricted to certain hours outside of the standard working schedule to avoid unnecessary messages.

Logbooks, logobook module

Keeping manual notes is a big waste of time and belongs to the past. The GPS Fleet Software automatically generates logbooks that can be used for documentation and effective trip controlling. The logbook contains road and street adresses as well as start and stop times which will be recorded by GPS tracking.

If you allow it, the driver can differentiate between business and private trips by using a simple ON/OF switch that is mounted in the dashbord of the vehicle.

You can also grant software access to the trip data. Drivers might be able to check their own trips and add comments to certain trips for clarifaction. The basis data cannot be altered but only commented by each driver.

Configuration, renaming of assets

You can login with administrator rights and rename vehicles and re-organize your groupings and organization.

The speed limits can be set individually for each vehicle and additional inputs and data are to be configured.

Administration, user-management

You can administer the most important system settings via simple menus and functions.

It is very easy to add new users, add or change the number of branches of your company or generate new passwords and users for your office staff.

Experiences administrators can use ODBC to directly access our fleet database. With the help of your user-manual you can setup and configure extra parameters or export raw data for special reports..

Driver identification with iButtonss

Your drivers can identify themselves using iButtons. Each ibutton has the size of a small key. A driver puts the ibutton chip on the reader that is mounted in the dasboard to send his identification.

The software shows the driver's name in the overview and in various reports. Users can edit and update the data of all their drivers in the software.

Fuel level measurement

The fuel level indicates how the vehicle is used. A sudden decrease in fuel might have different reasons, one might be fuel thraud as well. The software shows the current level of fuel together with current location and speed of the vehicle. This makes it easy to find out about the right and wrong usage of fuel of a vehicle.

If a vehicle is stopped for some time and shows a fast drop or leakage of fuel, this can be analyzed!

Additional inputs, sensors, signals

The software is able to show the status of addtiional inputs, sensors and signal such as ignition, door contacts, switches, etc. There are status reports about the usage of those additional inputs. Some more complex signals (RS232) might require additional interfaces and can be solved in the course of a project.

Take into consideration that connecting inputs, signals and switches can only be done by professional craftsmen who understand your vehicles electronic switching board. Else you might lose your manufacturer's warranty.

CANBUS & FMS-Data

The major truck manufacturers Daimler, MAN, Scania, Volvo, DAF Trucks and IVECO agreed to give third parties access to vehicle data. This standardized interface is called "FMS-Interface" (Flotten-Management-System).

The most important data that can be derived from CAN High and CAN Low signals (depending on producer, modell and type, must be activated and connected by certified workshops):

  • Current level of fuel
  • Total fuel consumption
  • Speed and RPM
  • Total odometer and service intervals

Learn more about fuel level solution and detection of fuel loss by utilizing the CANBUS & FMS-Data (see below).

Visit the official homepage of the FMS Standard to learn more about the FMS interface.

The CAN (Controller Area Network) is the fundamental electronic backbone of the vehicle and is connecting vital vehicle components. This is why any direct connection or influence of the CANBUS will lead to a consequential loss of the manufacturer's warranty.

Accessories and interfaces

We install the GPS Fleet Software on a corporate server within our customer's IT environment. One major advantage of this local installation is that interfaces to other local ERP systems can be developped in a shorter time and for lower running costs.

The GPS Fleet Software is dealing with a "Geoserver" for showing map data. It is possible to upgrade or integrate new data layers into the maps in the course of a project.

More choice of tracking devices

You want more choice? Any manufacturer will only offer what they are producing and there choice is always limited to their product line. What happens if you want more than that?

The GPS Fleet Software is already compatible with tracking devices of different producers. They are all made in Europe. Your biggest advantage is that you have the choice for different applications:

  • GPS / GPRS tracking of vehicles
  • GPS / GRPS tracking with long lasting batteries for trailers and containers
  • GPS / Iridium tracking with batteries for containers and ships
  • Hybrid GPS / GPRS / Iridium tracking for vehicles outside of GSM/GPRS coverage (deserts, mountains)

Upon request we are able to extend our software capabilities to any new gps tracking devices you might require in the near future.
